Working with strength and cardio exercises at different stations is a simple and effective way of exercising. Music can be played at different intervals when you are working on an exercise for 45 seconds and with a 15-second break in between.

The stations can form part of a circuit, so that you walk from station to station in the breaks. Alternatively, the stations can be performed without switching, through participants performing the same exercises simultaneously. You can choose to perform as many rounds as you like of all the exercises that are presented.

The Norwegian Diabetes Association's exercise videos have been made with financial assistance from the Norwegian Directorate of Health and are available in ten different languages: Norwegian, English, Arabic, Somali, Turkish, Urdu, Kurmanji (Kurdish), Tamil, Spanish and Polish.

The films show different exercises that you can choose to use for the various exercise components: warming-up, cardio, station exercises/circuit training focusing on strength and cardio, as well as exercises that may be used for cooling down and stretching.

Small clips of each exercise are shown so that you are given a general idea of how you can develop your own exercise regime. It is a good idea to maintain each exercise for a good while to achieve the desired effect.

We are aware that many people are motivated by music when exercising. For the exercises presented in each film, you can play music you like to listen to yourself when you exercise.

You can make the exercise regime your own and perform it wherever you like. For many people it is about making it easier to get started. It is all about small steps, and every movement counts, providing health benefits to the body and soul. It is often easier to get started when you exercise together with others.

Motivation develops more easily in a social setting. Perform the exercises together with family or friends or pay a visit to a motivation group in your neighbourhood. All that remains is: Get ready - set - motivation!
